Full Job Description

This post is available on a permanent basis due to the current postholder leaving. The successful applicant will join the Neurology Consultant team at North Middlesex UNiversity Hospital on a full-time basis, supporting delivery of outpatient and inpatient services, there will also be opportunity to pursue specialist areas of interest at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. General Responsibilities as Consultant in Neurology. The following is not an exhaustive or exclusive list of the duties of a consultant. The appointee is expected to:

  • Deliver day-to-day clinical care and leadership in Neurology outpatient clinic
  • Lead in on-going development of clinical guidelines in Neurological medicine, audit and other key aspects of the clinical governance agenda.
  • Work with consultant colleagues to ensure efficient use of Trust's resources and contribute actively to clinical governance in the department and to development of quality enhancement projects in the unit
  • Show flexibility and undertake different appropriate clinical tasks at the request of the clinical manager, as the need arises.
  • Actively participate in clinical guidelines development, audit and CPD.
  • North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS's, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.
