Full Job Description

The postholder will build and utilise governance links beyond the organization, for example Worcester Acute Maxillo-Facial Dept and OralSurgery at Birmingham Dental Hospital to ensure high quality care is provided to patients and will collaborate with and support the provision of oral surgery in primary care.

The appointee will join the Dental Specialties Team as a Consultant Oral Surgeon, and will be responsible for the care of the oral surgery patients. The successful candidate will be required to undertake managerial dutiesassociated with the care of their patients and the running of the department and will be expected to participate in all facets of departmental activity.

The department is based within the Surgical Division, which comprises the Departments of: ENT, Orthopaedics, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics and Ophthalmology. The Trust has a team providing orthodontics, oralsurgery, restorative and special care dentistry as part of dental and surgical MDT care. Clinical support staff including nursing and administration staff numbers are in place to support this post., Wye Valley NHS Trust is a member of an NHS Foundation Group with South Warwickshire NHS FT , the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Located on the border with Wales in the shadow of the Black Mountains, we provide acute and community services across Herefordshire and into parts of Powys and run Hereford County Hospital and the community hospitals in Bromyard, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.

Worcestershire is our neighbouring county. The post holder will be required to travel between sites.
