Full Job Description

This is a new post to expand and develop the regional paediatric haematology service after centralisation of services into one department based in the Great North Children's Hospital. This follows expansion of patient numbers and will allow consolidation of consultant areas of interest feeding into the stem cell transplant and cellular therapies service.

Depending on the interests and expertise of the candidate, this may include clinical management of patients with non-malignant conditions including haemoglobinopthies and malignant haematological disorders.

Haemostasis and thrombosis services are provided by the adult haematology team in Royal Victoria Infirmary and are not included in the paediatric haematology service.

We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team.

This new post is part of the service development to centralise and develop paediatric haematology. In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join, the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee.
