Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for one whole time Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to join the team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
The post will be based predominantly at the Sheffield Children's Hospital site, however outreach adult orthopaedic clinics and theatre sessions will be required at the local Teaching Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
You will join a team of 11 existing Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeons and 4 Spinal Surgeons undertaking surgery at Sheffield Children's Hospital.
On call is shared 1:8 at Sheffield Children's Hospital (SCH), with prospective cover for leave of colleagues.
The post is full time and is a 10 PA job plan although additional sessions may be available.
Sheffield Children's Hospital is a designated Major Trauma Centre.
You should possess CCT in Trauma and Orthopaedics, with demonstrable experience and expertise in Paediatric Orthopaedics. Additional special interest in transitional lower limb conditions especially foot and ankle and the treatment of cerebral palsy with gait analysis is desirable to complement the needs of the department. The completion of 2 recognised 12-month fellowships in paediatric orthopaedics will be essential.
