Croydon borough is the largest (by population) in London. The population is diverse, with a mixed population and younger than average population. Most local population statistics present a similarly mixed picture with pockets of affluence as well as pockets of poverty. This diversity in the local population translates into a high level of diversity of Paediatric medicine practiced in the hospital setting. It makes Croydon University Hospital an attractive place to work for a Paediatrician looking to practice the fullest range of Paediatric skills. Croydon Health Services NHS Trust has a commitment to support the care of children and young people from the local population and support the service development of the Paediatric department as one of the key services provided by the trust. In line with this policy community and acute Paediatric services were both brought into the newly formed Integrated Women, Children & Sexual Health directorate in 2012. The post will be based at Croydon University Hospital. The proposed Job Plan is attached. There will be an average of 8 Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care, with the remainder being allocated for Supporting Professional and/or other Activities. Please note that job plans are subject to review by your clinical head of service and clinical director on an annual basis, or sooner should changes be requested/required.
