Consultant Psychiatrist Permanent - Full Time Join a dynamic team in a 24-bedded rehabilitation hospital for women over 18, situated in the heart of the community in Birmingham. Patients have a primary diagnosis of mental illness or personality disorder with complex needs and may be admitted informally or detained under the Mental Health Act . Role Overview We are seeking a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist to lead a 24-bed Community-Facing Rehabilitation and Recovery Service. In this role, you will:
- Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients.
- Supervise referrals and admissions , including conducting pre-admission assessments.
- Collaborate with a cohesive, multidisciplinary team including:
- Specialty Doctor.
- Principal Psychologist.
- Senior Occupational Therapist and team.
- Ward Manager.
- Registered Nurses and Recovery Support Workers. The service works closely with NHS partners to facilitate smooth transitions back into the community with robust follow-up support. Requirements
- GMC Registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry .
- Experience in inpatient settings with various mental health challenges.
- Familiarity with working with patients who have a forensic history is advantageous.
- Proven experience at Consultant level , including the ability to conduct training. Perks and Benefits
