Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity within the adult community mental health service in Borehamwood. This post involves providing clinical leadership to one of the South-West Community Mental Health Team (based in Watford) providing diagnostic assessments and treatment to service users with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions. Borehamwood Adult Community Mental Health Service provides secondary psychiatric care to resident people of working age. The team look after mental health disorder of psychotic and non-psychotic nature, cluster 4 to 17 of the Honos clustering system. Cluster 1 to 3 is cared by the Wellbeing team in primary care (IAPT).Local working arrangements, To manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed by consultant colleagues and the medical director and in accordance with the Trust's personnel policies and procedures. This may include assessing competences under the Modernising Medical Careers framework.

To ensure that junior medical staff working with the post holder operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.

To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.

To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively and submit this promptly to the Information Department.

To participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
