Full Job Description
The post holder will be Consultant Psychiatrist to the Greenwich East Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders and Trauma Team (ADAPT) with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. This is the remaining WTE ofa consultant post within the team and will be a job share post. There will be an 'overlap' day to ensure handover and for both consultants to a?end the weekly team meeting. The current consultant has been in post for many year and has provided medical leadership to the team.The ADAPT Pathway provides focused, therapeutic interventions to adults residing within the Greenwich Borough who require care and treatment for anxiety, depression, affective disorders (without psychosis), personality disorders and trauma. The service aims to be flexible and accessible.The pathways of care aim to offer individuals, choice and involvement regarding their treatment, actively encouraging their participation in the planning and implementation of their care. A personalised care plan will be devised in
consultation with the service user and their Carer/familywhere appropriate., The post holder will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients within the team. This will involve attending multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss new referrals to theteam. The post holder will be expected to attend zoning meetings during the week to helpthe team prioritize contacts with patients, especially those service users who aredeteriorating and presenting with increasing risk. The post holder will be expected to chair review/CPA meetings, offer crisis appointments topatients who are in the red zone and offer home visits and telephone advice to generalpractitioners and other professional who may be involved with the care of service users onthe ADAPT caseload. The post holder will have timetabled outpatient clinics each week. On average in theMedical Clinics there are 4-6 patients and in the Assessment Clinics there are 2 patients ineach clinic. It is anticipated there will be 2-3 clinics, constituting direct clinical care eachweek. There is protected time for
administrative work, and the post holder will have access toappropriate digital/technological support to ensure timely communication with primarycare colleagues.
