Full Job Description

+ Senior Psychiatric input and clinical leadership for the locality Multidisciplinary Team. This includes a key role in ensuring that the service as a whole delivers safe and effective care that is acceptable to patients and carers.
+ Supervision of psychiatric medical staff working within the Learning Disability Service.
+ Undertake teaching and educational initiatives to develop skills of the Local Multidisciplinary team and the wider Learning Disability Service.
+ Interface with neurology and other health services where needed to facilitate access of service users into services that provide the most appropriate care for people with intellectual disabilities.
+ Senior interface with other community mental health services to ensure optimum Psychiatric Services for service users.
+ Psychiatric advice and leadership to one or more of the Clinical Reference Groups together with other appropriate management activities.
+ Liaison with children services to optimise transition of children into adult service.
+ To maintain and develop professional competencies using the process of The Royal College of Psychiatrists' monitored Personal Development Plan.
+ To support and participate in Clinical Governance and Audit.

+ Participation in the consultant out of hours on-call rota and reciprocal cover arrangements for annual and study leave.
+ Utilise electronic patient records system to maintain clinical records, clinical coding, outcomes and activity.
