Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking two forward thinking, dynamic, enthusiastic Consultant Rheumatologists to work among a team of 3 Consultants, 1 Specialist Registrar and 6 nurse specialists in the department of Rheumatology, Please see attached job description and personal specification for additional details in relation to the main duties of the job.

The successful candidates should have the ability to adapt to the department quickly to ensure the transfer of clinical workload causes minimal disruption to the department and to continuity of patient care. We are looking for part time or full time Consultants to work within a dynamic team., Essential

• Registered with GMC
• Licensed to practice
Desirable
• Further relevant degree/diploma
• Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education, Evidence of an ability to develop effective working relationships, on an individual and multi-disciplinary basis with all levels of staff (Working Together)
• Evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff
• Evidence of initiating, progressing and completing audit
• Previous experience of working in the NHS/experience of NHS working practices and systems
• Experience and knowledge in diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal disease., Effective leadership ability to take responsibility and demonstrate leadership when appropriate
• Understands the importance of effective Team Working with all levels of staff, take time to listen, understand and involve people receptive to appropriate change
• Understands and can apply the principles of Prudent Healthcare
• Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients, colleagues, relatives and staff communicate openly and honestly and explain things clearly
• Understands information systems and technology
• Clinical Skills: independent diagnosis and management of a range of rheumatological conditions including complex diseases such as vasculitis.

The successful candidates may work across Neath Port Talbot Hospital, Singleton and Morriston Hospitals providing a comprehensive Rheumatology service within outpatient clinics in additional to covering wards.Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people.
