Full Job Description

A part time (7 PA) post as a consultant stroke physician is available at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust for a 12-month fixed-term locum., Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of Stroke patients

To share with colleagues the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Stroke Service

Teaching and training of junior staff

To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit

To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD)

The post will be based at Wycombe Hospital in High Wycombe, although there may be service commitments at Amersham hospital one month in four and potentially for out-patient follow-up clinics in the future. A CCT in Stroke Medicine is desirable but not essential, providing a candidate has sufficient experience in acute stroke and a CCT in a 'parent speciality' such as Geriatric Medicine, Acute Medicine, or Neurology.
