Full Job Description

This is a Band 8b annex 21 position with a training period of up to 2 years dependent on skills and experience.
Consultant Therapy Radiographer -Breast will be a key member of the tumour site specialist multidisciplinary team, providing a seamless pathway for patients receiving radiotherapy, acting as an autonomous, expert practitioner with responsibility for assessing, treating and following up their own caseload of patients. They will act as an expert resource and senior clinical lead advising other specialist services within the region. The post holder will operate at a "higher level of practice" consistent with standards outlined by the Society and College of radiographers (SCoR) and the Health care Professional Council (HCPC) and in accordance with local and national policies., To provide a comprehensive Therapeutic Radiographer Consultant service for patients requiring radiotherapy.
To be an integral part of the MDT, participating in the development of standards and guidelines related to practice of radiotherapy and ensuring the highest possible care for their group of patients
·The post holder is an expert resource for patients receiving radiotherapy treatment for cancer working closely with the Consultant Oncologists.
To practice at an expert advanced level, providing expert care for patients undergoing radiotherapy for cancer, improving service delivery to patients whilst optimising the use of existing resources and developing services.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
