Full Job Description

+ Give advice to GP's
+ Contribution to service improvements
+ Closely cooperate with other all specialities
+ Support trainees / clinical development fellows
+ Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
+ Vetting referrals to ensure the most appropriate appointment / test is performed.
+ To participate actively in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
+ To have responsibility for ensuring active participation
+ The job plan will include at least 2 operative sessions per week, key urological diagnostic procedures (such as urodynamics, cystoscopy, prostate biopsy) and outpatient clinics.
+ The successful applicant should be fully competent in core urology.
+ Core urology is the essence and sub speciality interest that which complements the existing post holders will be encouraged.
+ The post holder may also be asked to do sessions at Newark hospital.
+ There will be a 1 in 14 on call commitment at Nottingham city Hospital.
+ The successful candidate will be expected to be aware of local policies and procedures

The departments of Urology at NUH and KMH are committed to a long-term partnership and as such the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in cross-site working. The Urology Centre at Nottingham City Hospital consists of a dedicated Outpatients Department, a lithotripter suite, three urology operating theatres and office accommodation. At King's Mill Hospital, there are a wide range of outpatient and diagnostic facilities and both day case and inpatient surgical capacity.
