This post is for a 10 PA substantive Consultant in Infectious Diseases based at Watford General Hospital.
The successful candidate will be supported by the Clinical Director at West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The timetable will rotate between ward and non-ward based weeks on a 1:3 basis (with internal cover).
An indicative rota would be 2 consecutive weeks on ward duties in every 6 weeks. Appendix A outlines the job plan on a typical ward cover week and Appendix B the job plan on non-ward weeks. Time off in lieu will be considered where appropriate.

Applicants must have full GMC registration and on the GMC's Specialist Register (via CCT or CESR) or within 6 months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interview or eligible for specialist registration.

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to appoint consultants in Infectious Diseases and Acute General Medicine.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build and develop a new Department for Infectious Diseases (ID) within West Herts Trust, in line with other exemplary Specialty departments within the Division of Medicine.
The Trust wishes to appoint 2 WTE Specialists in Infectious Diseases and GIM who, together with a Junior team (see below) will run an ID/GIM firm.
The Trust has secured funding for 2 WTE Consultants Specialising in ID/GIM, an ID training Grade SPR (Eastern Deanery) and FY2s. Together, they will run a dedicated ID ward. Currently this is envisaged to be Tudor ward on the Watford site (although a complete 'state of the art' new build for all inpatient facilities has been approved for the Watford campus, with building commencing within the next few years). Tudor ward is a 24 bedded ward with 12 side rooms.
