Full Job Description

  • Evaluating existing systems and services from a content perspective; in-line with best practice and accessibility standards
  • Working with clients to create and validate content that meets user needs and business objectives
  • Creating evidence-based content design recommendations with a clear narrative and documentation
  • Creating and iterating content based on user feedback, research, and analytics
  • Working closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders and partners to deliver clear, relevant content
  • Ensuring content is user focused, accurate, accessible, optimised appropriately (e.g. for search)
  • Meeting relevant design, style and brand guidelines if available or helping establish guidelines where none exist
  • Working with other specialists in project teams to understand user behaviors to improve how systems and services work
  • Supporting the wider digital experience team with best practice, and help promote user-focused content design

    YOU WILL MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE QUALITY OF OUR OFFER BY CONTRIBUTING TO THE CONTENT DESIGN ACTIVITY FOR CRITICAL ACCOUNTS. THIS ROLE IS INITIALLY FOCUSED ON OUR WORK WITHIN THE PUBLIC SECTOR BUT EXPERIENCE OF AND A WILLINGNESS TO WORK IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR IS ADVANTAGEOUS. AS SUCH YOU'LL WORK WITHIN A TEAM OF SPECIALISTS FROM SERVICE DESIGNERS TO USER RESEARCHERS AND DELIVER YOUR WORK FOR PROJECT TEAMS FROM A BROAD RANGE OF SPECIALISMS.
  • Experience working with the UK Government - delivering within the Government Service Standard and participating in GDS assessments
  • Demonstrable domain knowledge of UK Government Departments
  • Evidence of developing clear, accessible content to meet user needs for digital services
  • Strong editing skills and an eye for detail
  • Skilled at writing for different topics, audience groups, purposes, styles, and formats
  • Adept at providing simple, clear content to communicate complex issues
  • Ability to get to the heart of an issue quickly and clearly, demonstrating expert knowledge in an applied setting
  • Minimum, 3 years of industry experience within a content designer role. Preferably working for a consulting firm or agency
  • Experience working within an Agile team within a commercial environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, multi-vendor teams
  • Good project case studies (web-link or PDF) outlining your contribution towards each project, process, methods, and outcomes (all submissions treated with the strictest confidence)
