Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the RAF Association in a newly created role of Content Planner. The Content Planner will be responsible for the management and development of a programme of high-quality, captivating content that will be used across multiple platforms to increase understanding and awareness of our organisation and inspire supporters. Leading a team of Content Officers, the Content Planner will own and implement the organisation-wide content plan. Using your specialist knowledge, you will work with stakeholders across the charity to ensure content is planned, executed and delivered in support of agreed strategic priorities, gathering insight and learning on the way to help inform future content decisions. As well as being accountable for the delivery of Air Mail, the Association's quarterly members' magazine, in all its forms (print, digital and audio), you will contribute to the magazine's editorial content, identifying story opportunities and contributing
written articles.

You will hold a degree or have equivalent specialist experience related to marketing or communications along with significant knowledge in developing and delivering a multi-platform content plan. Along with knowledge of media law and applicable legislation, you will need to understand the complex work of the Assocation within the wider charity and military context and be able to channel this knowledge into a comprehensive plan of engaging, inspiring content that underpins our exciting and ambitious marketing and communications plans. You will be an expert at knowing how to gain maximum value from pieces of content and at working with colleagues to understand the different formats and capabilities of key communications platforms. Previous Line Manager experience is preferrable as you will lead and develop the wider Content Team to inspire and translate strategic priorities into tangible objectives.
