Full Job Description

You will be an integral part of a team that is kept busy by a wide range of national and international clients, particularly within the Energy and Infrastructure sectors, as well as the traditional built environment.

In this role, you will provide strategic and commercial legal advice on major energy, infrastructure, and development projects, focusing on disputes avoidance and resolution.

You will handle your own matters while also providing guidance and support to junior lawyers within the team.

There will be significant opportunities for business development, and you'll play an active role in shaping the strategic direction of the team. You'll collaborate with colleagues across the firm's national and international network, as well as within other practice areas, to help develop new growth opportunities.

We are interested in hearing from construction lawyers with 4+ years PQE and experience in contentious, or a mix of contentious and non-contentious, construction law. Ideally, you will have worked on high-value construction and engineering disputes previously and will therefore have a solid technical background.

Haggerty Jaques is working with a leading global law firm to recruit an experienced Construction & Engineering Lawyer for its highly regarded Disputes team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a top-tier team that specialises in handling large-scale projects and complex disputes within the construction and engineering sectors.

This is a firm that takes pride in its inclusive culture and commitment to employee development. The role offers a supportive and dynamic working environment with a strong focus on work-life balance through flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

You'll have access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare, wellness support, and retirement planning. There are also ample opportunities for professional development through structured training, mentoring, and exposure to international work. Additionally, you'll be encouraged to participate in pro bono initiatives and community engagement, making a real contribution to society alongside your legal practice.
