We support flexible working arrangements wherever possible., The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving process improvement initiatives within the Washington plant. This includes identifying processes that need optimization, creating and evaluating innovative solutions to process improvement issues, and delivering timely implementation of process improvements. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will work directly with management, staff, and operators to ensure all process improvement projects are successfully completed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process improvement, manufacturing, and business analysis. They should have excellent communication, problem solving, and project management skills. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and effectively Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Lead Lean projects to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Develop and implement standardized work procedures and best practices.
- Facilitate Kaizen events and other improvement workshops with cross-functional teams.
- Collect, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and impact.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to implement solutions for process improvements.
- Support new equipment integration and ensure processes are optimized during commissioning.
- Train and mentor staff and employees in continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Drive sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact.
- Participate in root cause analysis to resolve production issues and implement preventive measures.
- Document and communicate process changes and improvements to relevant stakeholders.
- Any other duties commensurate with the position as and when required.
A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience. - Proven experience in a continuous improvement role within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and problem-solving tools (5S, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead teams and influence change.
- Experience with project management tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with manufacturing software.
- Experience with hearing aid battery or small-scale precision manufacturing processes is a plus
