Full Job Description
You will work directly with the Site Director and support him managing the operational performance (People, Safety, Quality, Delivery and cost) of the Pirbright site. As a member of the senior management team you will support the definition of the strategic plan, short/medium/long term priorities and any key decisions that relate to the continuity and development of the site. Together with us you will identify improvement projects. Using your Business Process Excellence tools and methods you will perform with a dedicated project team the analysis and develop and implement efficient, effective solutions in a sustainable manner. This role requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our manufacturing site in Pirbright TASK & RESPONSIBILITES
- Identify and formalise the Continuous improvement strategy and associated programs with site director and global BPE team.
- Leads high-impact continuous improvement projects or problem solving at site or department level and coaches staff to lead or support for future activities.
- Analise processes: Adopt and roll out various CI methods to find opportunities for improvement as well as losses, which can be further investigated to determine root causes.
- Develop strategies: Act as an internal consultant and develop short and long-term strategies for the site incorporating CI methodology, tools and techniques.
- Problem solve: Define and standardise problem solving methodologies and support their implementation and development of staff.
- Provide Mentorship: Serve as a coach to coordinate workshops and team trainings, openly share guidance and technical expertise and ensure that learning resources are widely available.
- Promote a culture of BPE through the site by developing people and supporting with appropriate structures
- Leads or supervise, assessments on continuous improvement principles, Lean organisation principles, standards and tool / Method utilisation.
- Guide and support annual strategic project management process (building, scheduling, monitoring, closure).
- Collaborate with the Global BPE team and CI managers on other sites
Demonstrable record of accomplishment with skills and experience gained in a similar position(s), at a similar level. - Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage.
- Experience of project management and particularly lean or six sigma (Green belt as minimum), plus tools and methods of continuous improvement, problem solving, root cause analysis, with the ability to create visual and synthetic reports that are easy to read and facilitating decision making.
- Strong leadership/team management skills and experience, able to adapt to an ever-changing environment and lead through change. Empowers people to face challenges, make decisions and take action. Develops people, taking time to listen and provide regular fact-based feedback and delivering courses to develop skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation and translate agreed strategies into clear, tangible and actionable plans and initiatives.
