Full Job Description

We're currently recruiting in our Contracts team here in Wolverhampton. The ideal candidate will be a high potential individual that will provide day-to-day advice, expertise, support and guidance to colleagues across the Actuation Systems sites in respect of contractual matters, taking a solution focused approach to business problems and providing a risk-based analysis of options available.

We're open to a variation of experience as we are ready to invest & develop the right candidate. A legal background is advantageous however a legal qualification is not essential for this role.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Responsible for the drafting, negotiation, and management of new agreements and contract clauses in line with corporate guidelines.

  • Conduct contracts risk and opportunity analysis

  • Assist, lead and support during customer negotiations and decision making including, but not limited to, escalating subjects to senior management when required for resolution.

  • Lead contractual aspects of negotiation when required across the business.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to corporate Collins processes, policies, and approval of contracts, leading the approvals required for the Legal, Contracts & Compliance function.

  • Work with internal and external legal counsel on specific projects as and when they arise across the sites to ensure

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to corporate Collins processes, policies, and approval of contracts, leading the approvals required for the Legal, Contracts & Compliance function.

  • Work with internal and external legal counsel on specific projects as and when they arise across the sites to ensure the business risk position is minimized to the maximum extent possible

  • Work with the business teams (Legal, Program Management, Business Development, Finance, Engineering, Senior Leadership across the sites to ensure appropriate contractual requirements are included in business cases.

  • Work with the Supply Chain Contracts teams across the sites to align on contract symmetry where possible.

  • Review, approve, and sign contracts, letters, etc.

  • Approve Business Case objectives in line with Approval Authority and other Compliance aspects of the business.

    Contract Management and negotiation

  • Experience in a contracts, legal environment

  • Commercial awareness in a business environment


  • Desirable skills:
  • Understanding of aerospace industry or similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous

  • Ability to strategise to support company initiatives

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Qualified legal background would be preferred but is not essential

  • Competent in MS Office suite

  • Proven team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an attention to detail
