Full Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for managing operational contracts and overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of rope access operations mainly within our Rail business., The main aim of this role is to manage and deliver our operational rope access contracts and operations profitably and efficiently.

  • You will;
  • Be responsible for your own P&L and budgets across the team
  • Develop, document, and maintain operational policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead and motivate our teams, ensuring adherence to industry safety standards and company guidelines.
  • Conduct site safety visits to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with the HQSE team to align activities with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare risk assessments and method statements for operational activities.
  • Participate in internal audits, incident investigations, and safety inspections.
  • Maintain high professional standards and foster a positive team culture.
  • This role is a national role so some staying away from home will be required when the work dictates this. Any time you are not on site you will be able to work from home remotely. We are particularly interested in speaking to candidates who live in Wales as a number of contracts fall within this area.

    At Ground Control we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Manager, Rope Access to join our Specialist Access Team (SAT)., To be successful in this role you will need proven experience as a Contract Manager ideally within the Rail industry. An understanding of working at height (WAH) management is essential and ideally you will also have a minimum of Rope Access Level 1 if possible. You will need strong management experience of both contracts and people and a great track record of delivering successful operational Rail contracts including full P&L responsibility. Strong client management experience is also essential. In addition, you must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
