Full Job Description

Location: Bristol/London (hybrid working arrangements). The role will require some travel to Gloucester and Paris., As a Contract Project Manager within the SZC Project, you will be at the heart of our engineering design and delivery efforts. You will oversee a critical programme of work, focusing on the Project Delivery Organisation (PDO), which includes safety aspects, within the Nuclear Services Agreement (NSA). Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the NSA Contractor's activities align with our project goals, contractual terms, and quality expectations.

You'll be the linchpin between various stakeholders, including the NSA Contractor, SZC Delivery Programmes, and the SZC Design Authority. Your mission? To ensure that everything runs smoothly, on time, and within budget. From managing contract execution to resolving issues and leading negotiations, your expertise in contract management will be key to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between the NSA Contractor, SZC Delivery Programmes, and SZC Design Authority, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Contract Management: Supervise the execution and performance of the NSA contract, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope.

Issue Resolution: Proactively address and resolve contractual issues, escalating where necessary.

Reporting: Compile and report financial and technical data, providing key insights to drive decision-making.

Risk Management: Identify and manage risks, communicate early warnings, and facilitate resolution meetings.

Change Management: Lead contract change negotiations and support engineering teams in obtaining additional resources as needed.

Technical Oversight: Ensure technical deliverables from the Responsible Designer meet SZC requirements, with a specific focus on PDO safety.

Essential:

o Good knowledge and experience of Design Authority functions and safety case requirements.o Experience in major infrastructure projects, ideally within the nuclear industry.o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.o Proactive problem-solving approach and the ability to work independently and within a team.o Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office.

Desirable:

o Contract management experience.o Engineering or project management experience in the nuclear sector.o Understanding of EPR project design and commercial aspects of large-scale projects.o Prior experience with SZC or HPC projects.o Chartered or working towards chartership with a recognised institution.

Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full
- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part
- time approach where possible.Salary: £50,000
- £55,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits. Closing date: Tuesday 24th September
