Full Job Description

In this role you will provide legal support to Europe's hotel lifecycle, focused on driving compliance and handling disputes.

Under supervision of the Growth & Compliance Manager and Europe team lawyers, you will:

  • Provide support for compliance programs, including Performance Essentials, through input on program design, drafting formal correspondence, and tracking follow-ups.

  • Handle legal matters such as issuing defaults, termination letters, and settlement agreements.

  • Responsible for the tracking of deadlines for system/license requirements and updating databases for accuracy.

  • Support dispute management with hotel owners, including arbitrations, court proceedings, and settlement negotiations, while managing research and correspondence regarding potential conflicts.

  • Collaborate with other functions on the Bank Guarantee process, claims against franchised hotels, and collections

  • Assist in contract administration, drafting variations to franchise licenses, executing special agreements, and updating databases with accurate hotel/license data., At IHG we give our colleagues greater flexibility and balance - working in a hybrid way, blending remote and office working.     Critical Expertise & Experience:

  • 1+ years work-related experience in contentious matters / litigation & dispute resolution, contract administration, or similar, with demonstrated technical proficiency related to the position.

  • Fluent written and spoken English language (additional languages a bonus) .


  • Technical Skills & Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other PC-based software programs.

  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills for the purpose of conveying information to internal and external customers or providing information via written reports or correspondence.

  • Demonstrated strong writing and reading comprehension skills for purposes of drafting, compiling, or interpreting legally binding license agreements and financial letters.

  • Demonstrated understanding of contractual agreements and demonstrated ability to administer ongoing contracts or similar detail-oriented projects.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, time management skills, and organisational skills.
