Atkins Search are recruiting for a Contracts Manager role to join an established, leading construction main contractor in Nottingham. Client My client is focused on delivering public and private sector led schemes and construction projects across the region and have long-standing, excellent relationships across the Midlands. Projects will include Social Housing, Care, Industrial and Commercial varying in value up to £8m. Role Operating as the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for projects in the business with values of circa £8m. As the Contracts Manager, you will be supported by site delivery team to ensure quality and progress is maintained throughout delivery. As the Contracts Manager, you will manage anywhere between 1-2 larger scale projects across the Midlands, which will be a mix of new build and refurbishment schemes. You will also be involved in the Planning aspects of the projects. Responsibilities

  • Managing the efficient and economical execution of contracts under the main contract conditions, producing the maximum return to the company to promote on-going and future work with clients and consultants
  • Working in conjunction with the Project Manager and delivery team, ensuring accurate construction whilst maintaining quality and progress
  • Provide sound advice, guidance and support to the project team throughout pre-construction and construction phases
  • Promote the well-being
  • of your teams and ensure that an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought, backgrounds and experience is actively encouraged and achieved
  • Manage multiple Projects concurrently with a hands-on and positive approach

    The ideal candidate for the Contracts Manager job will have a proven track record as a Contracts Manager in a construction environment, delivering similar projects. You will also need to be proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels and able to work as part of a team.

  • Experience delivering a mixture of projects including refurbishment, fit-out and new build with values of circa £8m
  • A good understanding of the building regulations, local authority agreements
  • A methodical, professional, and collaborative approach
  • Ability to organise your workload
  • Ability to create a positive and organised site
  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Temporary works
  • Knowledge of contract conditions and law within the industry
  • Sound commercial awareness with a commitment to health & safety and risk management
