Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council's Joint Waste Management Service, working in partnership for both East and North Hertfordshire District Councils. The role is primarily field based with the main office in Buntingford. You will be helping to monitor and review the Council's waste management contract, including street cleansing, & waste and recycling services. You will be engaging with the public, our contractors and other partners involved with waste management across both Districts. Key responsibilities include, complaint resolution, monitoring of contractual standards across our contracts, and carrying out environmental quality inspections.

You will have a passion for the environment and you will be someone who can help us to create a better, cleaner environment for East & North Hertfordshire and support in towards achieving our net zero carbon targets.

Additionally, you will:

  • Have an interest in the environment and waste management.

  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Be interested in contract monitoring

  • Be confident in dealing with difficult conversations and be able to communicate effectively with contractors, residents and other stakeholders.

  • Work well as part of a team in a multi functional service environment.

  • Have a desire to promote the councils services and encourage participation.

  • Have a driving licence; works vehicle will be provided.

    £25,786- £29,962 per annum dependent on experience, (pay award pending)
