Full Job Description

An exciting position has become available within the Contract and Procurement Team at Northamptonshire ICB. The roll provides the opportunity to work within a well established contract and procurement team serving the population of Northamptonshire. The post holder will support the Contracting and Procurement function, across a variety of portfolios, for instance the Acute, Community, Mental Health and Learning Disability sectors. Ensuring that the ICB contracts for the services required, for the population of Northamptonshire, are in line with the ICB's strategic priorities, achieving quality and value for money., o The post holder will act as a lead for negotiation, agreeing and managing a portfolio of healthcare contracts. Lead the contract negotiation and performance process on an annual basis for contracts they are responsible for, held by the ICBo Lead the annual contract negotiation for their portfolio of contracts with each identified provider, agreeing local prices and financial values, activity targets and quality and performance standards, ensuring that agreements are reached in a timely manner and in line with national deadlines, with full robust documentation in place and within an affordable envelope.o Working with the ICB clinical, operation and strategic commissioning teams, and with healthcare providers using services commissioned by the ICB, to ensure that services are safe, effective and operationally fit for purpose; through supporting the development of and change to contracts.o Ensuring that activity and finance are monitored on a timely basis in-year, providing realistic
forecasts of the year-end position, ensuring that appropriate action is takenin-year to manage specific issues.o Monitoring provider performance against all key performance and quality targets, and liaising as necessary with managers, clinical commissioners and quality leads concerning this.o Lead on implementing appropriate measures, including formal use of contractual sanctions, to ensure that contract activity remains affordable and that performance and quality standards are achieved.

You will be working within a friendly well established contract and procurement team which has a focus on delivery. The team has high expectations of all it's members, but is supportive and works together to achieve objectives. The current agile working policy enables a combination of home and site based work, but with daily teams meetings to discuss current and future issues.

Any new team member can expect that the team will provide a supportive environment with any required training/advise given.
