Full Job Description

Royal Greenwich is on the up! Having achieved a 3.8% increase in our recycling rate this year, we're looking for someone who can help us reach the next level of success in our Waste, Street Cleansing and Enviro-crime services.

This is an exciting time to join us because the Royal Borough is at the early stages of developing a new waste strategy and procuring a portfolio of waste disposal contracts worth multi-million pounds per annum, and you will be involved in that work.
With an excellent knowledge and understanding of waste, street cleansing and enviro-crime legislation, policy and best practice, you will have a proven track record of delivering successful projects and contract management.
Comfortable working as part of a team, you will support the Contracts and Strategy Manager in all procurement work taking place in the Waste Strategy section along with all aspects of contract related activities.
You will have strong data interrogation, interpretation and presentation skills, via the use of Microsoft Office products, essential for a range of purposes including projects and statutory submissions.
With your excellent written and oral communication skills, you will review planning applications to ensure waste management and street cleansing concerns are addressed and develop the sections' contribution to departmental annual plans and service objectives.
You will work a 35-hour standard Monday to Friday week.
