Control Room Operator - Staff Bank

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to work both within our control room and out in the community providing a mobile warden service. Control Room Operators respond to Telecare lifeline activations, assessing calls to ensure appropriate support is given. This may be re-assurance, signposting to another service or requesting support from emergency services. Successful applicants must have excellent communications skills and be confident to deal with emergency situations often where the caller or client is in distress. Individuals should have a calm and empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients both over the phone and face to face. The role will involve working a variety of shifts including days, evening, nights and weekends. Benefits of joining NCC's Staff Bank include:

You will be subject to Northumberland County Council's pre-employment checking process which includes a minimum of 2 references covering the past 3 years, health clearance and proof of right to work in the UK and depending on the assignment you may be required to undertake a DBS check.

Northumberland County Council's Staff Bank provides a pool of highly skilled temporary workers who are looking for a long-term placement, or who want to work flexibly within the council. If a team needs support due to sickness, common staff shortages, or general vacancies, they call upon registered bank members to fill available assignments. These can be filled via a long-term assignment for up to 12 months or on an ad hoc basis.
