Full Job Description

We are looking for applicants with experience of working in a busy office environment and using multiple IT packages for varying purposes to join our team and provide administrative support to the HM Senior and Area Coroner.
In this role you will be the first point of contact for bereaved families, professional witnesses and outside agencies that contact or attend the Coroner Courts. You will support the HM Coroner, families, interested parties, witnesses and jurors when attending court.

You must have a proven track record of high levels of customer service and experience of working in both an emotionally challenging environment and one that is governed by legislation.
Excellent communication skills along with the ability to be professional, sensitive and responsive to the needs of bereaved families as well as the ability to deal and liaise with other customers and professionals are essential in this role.
Other essential skills include accuracy, attention to detail and ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. The role will involve attending court and reading statements out loud in court, including those which contain complex medical information, therefore the ability to speak confidently in a public setting is essential.
This position by the nature of the role of the HM Coroner involves constant and detailed interaction about death including cause of death and detailed circumstances around a death. Many aspects of the work may be distressing owing to the nature of investigating deaths but it is also rewarding supporting families following a bereavement., Disability Confident
