An exciting opportunity within AWE as the new Corporate Affairs Director. To support our expanding mission, we are recruiting Corporate Affairs Director to lead the development and delivery of AWE Communications & Engagement. The role will report directly to our Chief People Officer and will work collaboratively as a member of the People & Place Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all internal change and transformation communications, channels, events and partnering; digital channels, media relations, public affairs, stakeholder and community engagement, reputation management/crisis communications; the brand experience and roll-out, and the in-house studio capability. As a Director at AWE, this role is responsible for the effective development and deployment of company policies, strategies, and processes to maintain the organisation's Licence to Operate, safely deliver the contract requirements and continuously improve business performance through an ethical, professional one-company culture built on our corporate behaviours.,

  • Provide strategic communications advice to the Chief Executive and Executive team, supporting them in their roles as ambassadors for the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver a Communications and Engagement Strategy, aligned to AWE's business strategy, that builds and maintains awareness and reputation, ensuring a clear brand identity and high levels of engagement, understanding and advocacy amongst all stakeholder groups - including current and future talent, partners, customer, and the UK gen pop and beyond.
  • Identify and prioritise emerging risks to AWE's reputation and handle in a timely fashion.
  • Working in partnership with the People & Places function to develop and deliver a strategy to engage employees and create a high-performance culture through internal communications with the organisational purpose, mission, and plan(s).
  • Lead, manage and develop the Corporate Affairs function, creating a highly engaged and high performing team delivering value for money in all its activities across AWE.

    Proven experience leading a corporate affairs function in highly regulated industry.
  • Background in delivery of effective internal and external and brand communications.
  • Experience of delivering impactful and effective change and transformation communications.
  • Proven track record in a Corporate Affairs senior leadership position.
  • Preferable qualifications: Masters or first degree in Marketing, Government Affairs, PR, Public Affairs, Internal Communication, Business Administration or similar qualification and/or professional membership of CIPR/CIM/IABC with corresponding breadth of experience. Location: Reading / Basingstoke area with free onsite parking.
