We are currently hiring at Associate level (2-4 PQE), this is a role to join our London Corporate M&A team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in working closely with our UK and International Partners on client relationship development and the continued expansion of the team and practice, which will provide clear career progression opportunities at a pivotal stage in your career.

As well as our own trained lawyers, we have colleagues who have previously been in international, Magic Circle, US, City, national and boutique law firms as well as in-house at financial services firms, all of whom enjoy working with us.
Public company takeovers. We have one of the leading teams in the City for public company takeovers and last year we were involved in 30% of all UK takeovers. There are three former secretaries to the Takeover Panel in our team and we provide advice to the Panel on Code related matters giving us unrivalled expertise in this high profile work;
Private company M&A (both domestic and cross-border). Our M&A clients include high profile names like ABF, Barclays, BAT, bp, Britvic, Coventry Building Society, Diageo, HSBC, Entain, JD Sports, Lloyds Banking Group, Nationwide, NatWest and Yum!, many of whom have been clients for more than a decade, and we advise them on all aspects of their acquisition, disposal and joint venture strategies. We are currently adviser to over 50% of the FTSE100 delivering transformational deals for them across all our chosen sectors.
Equity capital markets. This includes advice on listings, placings, rights issues and open offers on both the Main Market and AIM, advising corporate issuers and investment banks; and
Corporate governance, reporting and group reorganisations. This includes all aspects of corporate governance (whether to the boards of listed companies or in complex joint venture situations), corporate reporting and all aspects of group reorganisations whether to restructure operations, release dividend blocks or prepare groups for sale.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents
Supporting senior lawyers to manage and co-ordinate transactions from initial instruction through to closing, including multi-jurisdictional deals
Running the closing process including both physical and virtual signings
Maintaining contact with clients post-closing to support their ongoing legal needs
Working alongside your colleagues to further grow and develop our corporate business, including involvement in client and targeting teams, and other business development opportunities
You would be both positively encouraged and expected to participate fully in business development activities, with a view to supporting the future growth and development of new and existing client relationships

You are an Associate (2 - 4 years+ PQE).
You want to join an award-winning practice that has great breadth and variety and want to expand your knowledge and skillset and develop your career at Associate level.
Be a team player, motivated and keen to progress to more senior roles within AG.
Be ambitious and want to help grow the international practice and take an active role in core initiatives in the firm.
