Full Job Description

  • Providing company secretarial and corporate governance advice and support across the JLR Group (including on a cross-border basis) whilst ensuring cross-Chapter collaboration
  • To act as secretary and a trusted advisor to JLR Group Boards and Committees, including organising and administering Board, Committee and annual general / shareholder meetings (as required), e.g. the preparation of agendas, papers and minutes, providing real time pragmatic advice etc
  • Ensuring legal governance compliance across the JLR Group including devising, enhancing, implementing and monitoring adherence to relevant corporate policies, frameworks and delegations of authorities
  • Ensuring the adoption of governance best practice and advising and supporting the facilitation of governance activities. This includes director / senior personnel inductions and Board evaluations and composition reviews
  • Building a strong network of cross-functional stakeholders and business partnering with them to ensure legal governance compliance in a commercial and solution driven way

    This role provides the opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Solicitor, qualified Company Secretary or person with relevant qualifications to work as part of a busy Legal & Compliance team, providing advice and direction on a wide variety of corporate and governance matters. You'll become an influential advisor to the JLR business taking the lead in making decisions about legal and governance matters in a commercial context., Qualified Solicitor, Company Secretary or possess other relevant qualifications
  • Experience gained at a leading private practice firm and/or in-house
  • Strong proven experience of providing advice on legal governance compliance and company secretarial matters for large international businesses in a pragmatic, commercial and solution driven context
  • Experience in providing corporate governance / company secretarial support on corporate transactions
  • Demonstrates sound, commercial judgement and has the ability to design practical and proportionate solutions
