Full Job Description

As Corporate Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legislation and identifying and mitigating risks. You will work with staff, Service Managers and Directors to promote a positive culture of safety across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be required to report on progress and performance to the Council's Corporate Leadership Team and the Joint Consultative Committee and provide professional advice to Service Managers to ensure safe working practices and environments.
You should have:
+ A sound working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
+ Experience of having successfully developed and implemented health and safety policies, practices, plan and reports
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and concisely
+ Tact, diplomacy and a positive approach
