Full Job Description

  • Contributes to the overall success of Scotiabank's Global Banking & Markets business ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives

  • Support more senior officers in the development of Corporate Banking business with prospect companies and the maintenance/enhancement of relationships with existing accounts

  • Assist team members with the analysis of term sheets and due diligence materials, preparation of credit presentations and recommendations for review by banking senior management, risk management and the London Credit Committee, negotiation of documentation with clients or other banks including closing procedures culminating in the execution of the transaction

  • Research various companies, assets and transactions using public and private information sources to prepare meaningful analyses

  • Provide project team support to assist senior team members in business development, the maintenance/enhancement of client relationships and execution of active M&A mandates including providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis, including preparing excel based financial models

  • Prepare pitching material/client presentations and daily market commentary

  • Supporting corporate customers' deposit experience; solving technological, operational and pricing issues

  • Work closely with deal teams on live transactions and provide timely client support

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

  • Gain exposure to other business areas and product teams within the bank globally

    The Corporate & Investment Banking Rotational Graduate Programme is designed to develop technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and is the pathway to becoming an Analyst within Corporate Banking.


  • This programme is aimed at recent graduates who are keen to learn and have a curiosity in the financial markets. Unlike other graduate programmes, Scotiabank aims to give Analysts responsibilities far greater than other programmes to enhance the pace of learning versus their industry peers.

    Corporate Bankers are committed to understanding their clients' needs and providing solutions to a wide array of requirements whilst building strong and lasting customer relationships. The programme allows Analysts to gain hands-on experience in a stimulating and challenging environment, building knowledge and skills in relationship management and credit-related activities by rotating through several teams within Scotiabank's Global Banking & Markets business including Corporate & Investment Banking and Global Capital Markets.,
  • A recent graduate with a passion for Banking and Finance

  • A demonstrable interest in and knowledge of the financial markets keeping up to date with market information, economic releases, trends, and factors that affect market movement

  • An independent thinker and decision maker who is able to contribute effectively to the team's success

  • Superior interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Be able to establish and juggle multiple priorities sometimes with conflicting deadlines

  • Be able to multitask in a high-pressure environment with superior attention to detail

  • Have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

  • Possess confidence, courtesy, and professionalism to manage direct contact with high-level Executives and Clients, internally and externally

  • Ability to meet the challenges presented by a stressful, constantly changing work environment
