Full Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Corporate Tax Manager to join our Group Tax team based in Wotton-Under-Edge, focussing mainly on UK corporation tax compliance and global tax compliance monitoring., UK Corporation tax compliance and tax accounting including:

  • Preparation of UK corporation tax computations and submission to HMRC along with associated documentation (e.g. RDEC information reports, CIR return)
  • Calculation of quarterly payments on accounts and UK tax cash flow forecasts
  • Maintaining group summaries
  • Ensuring all allowances, claims and reliefs are made in the relevant timescales, including capital allowances analyses, patent box calculations, and RDEC claims
  • Preparation of year end UK corporation tax provisions within tight deadline
  • HMRC liaison and tax enquiry support
  • Review of CT61 forms where required
  • Withholding tax certificates, certificates of residence and tax compliance
  • Global tax compliance monitoring platform management - ensure the platform is kept up to date and develop, implement, and manage monitoring systems for upward feedback
  • Work with colleagues to identify any changes or further opportunities to optimise use of the platform, and develop/ implement changes as appropriate
  • Maintain UK tax risk register
  • Responsibility for Senior Accounting Officer reporting, including ensuring there are robust systems and processes in place to support Senior Accounting Officer assurance and develop monitoring programme
  • Delegation to and development of Tax Analyst
  • Maintain tax technical knowledge and keep Group Tax Manager and other colleagues informed of changes that could affect the business

    You will be ACA or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 7+ years' experience in UK corporation tax / tax accounting and have a willingness and flexibility to broaden your role into other areas of tax if required
  • Communication - You will have excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner, adapted to the audience. You will be highly literate and numerate with problem solving skills, and an ability to documentation research and conclusions drawn to ensure a robust audit trail
  • Team-player - Renishaw is a global business and you must be able to demonstrate a collaborative team-working approach within the Group Tax team and wider organisation
  • Organisation - you should be reliable and well organised, with the ability to work within deadlines and, whilst able to work on your own initiative, keep your line manager informed. You must be able to demonstrate ownership of responsibilities and a pro-active approach
  • Systems - you will be adept with UK corporation tax software and Microsoft Office, particularly outlook, excel and word
