Morrison Water Services are looking to recruit a Cost Control Manager to work on our Southern Water contract. The role will be area based, but will include working on Clean Water Mains Replacement Programme, covering the whole Southern Area Region, including Isle of Wight.
General
Manage and co-ordinate the use of cost systems and processes, providing Framework level support and maintaining regular liaison and with all stake holders

Team Working

- Encourage and develop a culture of commercial/cost awareness within the team
- Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
- Provide support and guidance to team on cost management systems
- Development, motivation & performance management of junior staff

Delegation of appropriate work to junior staff, whilst maintaining accountability
Commercial Services Delivery

- Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
- Be Framework point of contact for Internal and external stakeholders, attending meetings as required to understand requirements and developments in Cost management systems, processes and reporting.
- Liaise with senior management and divisional finance teams to co-ordinate and support wider commercial team to ensure consistent approach across Framework in respect of:
- Sharing best practice
- Capturing Savings (cost control / cost mitigation)
- Utilisation of the costing system
- Cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements
- Contract/Cross Contract Cost Transfers
- Applications for Payment
- Internal and external Audit and Cost Assurance requirements
- Maintain Central Overhead CVR's, including management and processing of all contract / cross cost contract Transfers
- Preparation and submission of monthly Contract Level Application for payment, with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
- Maintain Framework Level Application for Payment, Invoice and Retention trackers.
- Preparation and support in the production of Contract level Cash Management, including WIP Reporting and cash flow forecasts for senior management.
- Positive engagement with Client equivalent position essential.
- Adherence it Group procedures

Undertake any other work as required of you by your line manager

- Attend client engagement events for equivalent level customer feedback.

Extensive experience within a similar role and demonstrable experience within the utilities sector
Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint
Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others
Experience within a construction/engineering/similar and commercial/support services background
