Full Job Description

Job Title: Cost Manager – PMO

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £56,000+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead in the development of toolsets to support the Estimate at Completion Process
  • Lead the development of ‘On Contract’ reporting to support the Contract Management and Finance teams
  • Provide Cost Support throughout the full Project Costing process
  • Attend monthly Control Account Manager reviews
  • Help to drive the Quality to all cost outputs
  • Develop a training strategy to deliver to the Cost Leads to ensure that all Cost team members are suitably qualified and experienced personnel
  • Provide cover for the Project Management and Controls Manager for the Dreadnought Cost area

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Good knowledge of a range of Planning, Monitoring & Control methodologies and toolsets will be required
  • Project Management & Control experience, Finance and/or Cost Estimating background demonstrated in a professional role within a business or project/programme/portfolio
  • You will need to have significant knowledge and experience in influencing internal and external Stakeholders
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of SAP, P6 and Dassian (Toolsets)
  • Broad knowledge/exposure to risk, opportunity and change processes

The Dreadnought PMO Cost Team:

This is a vital role within the team and a great opportunity to be involved in exciting and complex projects for the wider Dreadnought programme. The position will provide you the opportunity to work within a multi-faceted and dedicated team. Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
