Full Job Description

  • To provide consultation, mentorship, supervision and advice about psychological issues to other members of the counselling team/service and other professionals working with service users.
  • To provide a qualified, high-quality specialist psychological therapy service to individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams, in line with best, evidence-based practice and trust care pathways.

We are seeking to recruit a senior clinician to provide leadership to the counsellors in the service. This is a part time post 22.5 hrs a week. You must be a registered counselling/clinical psychologist or counsellor/psychological therapist with the equivalent level of experience. All applicants must have an NHS Talking Therapy modality training such as (CFD, DIT, IPT, EMDR. CTFD). The role is to support and develop counselling practice within the team (across all areas) through consultation, supervision, formulation and training/education.

The client's experience of our service is very important to us. We work towards supporting clients in their recovery by offering evidence-based therapy with therapists who receive regular and supportive supervision and regular CPD. We promote service user involvement. Health in Mind has a Service User Steering Group which provides valuable input to our service design and delivery. We care about our staff. We have a staff-wellbeing-champions team, and are committed to staff engagement. We know that for our clinicians to do a good job they need to feel supported. There is opportunity for varied and flexible working patterns in addition to working from home for some of your time. We are keen for our clinicians to grow. We aim to offer staff individual appraisals with the opportunity to become involved in a range of activities, such as group-based interventions, teaching, supervision and service development
