Full Job Description

To encourage the students motivation and aspirations by providing information and advice that is personalised, impartial, unbiased and realistic especially during enrolment and tutorials. You will be able to signpost or refer students to appropriate specialist support in a way that is free from direct or indirect discrimination and envelops the students trust in the College. You will need to be able to work flexibly and may need to work evenings and weekends. Evenings may be teaching or evening duty.,

  • Plan and develops lessons, including the development of schemes of work
  • Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, with focus on constructive and development feedback for our students
  • Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
  • Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforce health and safety standard in your area, ensuring all students understand and comply
  • You will be required to assist during examination and enrolment periods

    Possess a teaching qualification or be prepared to undertake a further education teaching qualification
  • Have recent and relevant experience of teaching Counselling to learners from Level 2 to Level 6
  • Be conversant with Health and Safety and Safeguarding requirements
  • Participate in Staff Learning and Development, Review and Appraisal Scheme
  • Adopt a consistent and constructive approach in dealing with learner discipline in accordance with the college's learner support and disciplinary policy
  • Keep up to date with quality improvement and enhancement initiatives and be aware of, and meet, service standards for the curriculum area. For success rates, the aspiration is to acquire a minimum of 80% success rate for Long and All qualifications

We're recruiting for a for a Lecturer Counselling to join us. You will join us on a 7.2 hours per week (1 day, Friday) part time on a fixed term until 31/07/2025, basis.
