Full Job Description

The role will require travel therefore a driver's license and access to a vehicle essential for this role. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted. The Role We are delighted to announce that we have received funding for this new role! Norfolk and Waveney Mind are working in partnership with NSFT are seeking a dedicated and experienced and compassionate Counselling Team Leader to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality counselling services and supporting our counselling staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, providing clinical supervision, and contributing to the strategic development of the counselling services. This role requires flexibility to work in line with our service needs, including evenings as and when required. Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the smooth running of the service by ensuring timely access to assessment, intervention or onward referral (if required).
  • To provide management supervision to team members and ensure that all staff have access to management and clinical supervision.
  • The Counselling Team Lead role is responsible for the operational management of a range of aspects of service delivery within the team.
  • Responsible for the line management of identified staff within the team to include CPD, performance management, staff appraisals and relevant HR issues.
  • To ensure annual leave, sickness absence and other staffing issues are addressed in order to maintain service delivery.
  • Responsible for the proactive recruitment of new staff and maintaining delegated staff wellbeing/retention.
  • Responsible for the effective use of the delegated aspects of the team budget.
  • To lead the development of effective mental health care pathways within the team.
  • Lead/support service evaluation and audit systems.
  • Responsible for the review/development of service wide policies and protocols.
  • Support the establishment of partnerships and networks with key stakeholders.
  • Deputise for the Lead Counsellor as required.
  • To lead and contribute to team meetings and ensure a healthy workplace and team morale is maintained.

    Relevant counselling qualification completed & qualified (Degree or 4-year diploma in counselling)
  • Registered with BACP or CPCAB or UKCP Essential Experience: Experience of providing leadership in a mental health care environment Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a counselling, mental health, or wellbeing setting.

    Working hours to be agreed with the successful candidate to best meet both the candidates and the service's needs, including availability for evening work as and when required. Salary: Starting Salary £43,742 per annum rising to £50,056 after 6 months probation.
