Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Team Manager, within Central Short Term Support Service managing and supporting people the a period of recuperation, recovery and reablement. The post you are applying for is a full-time permanent based at County Hall.

Lancashire Adult Social Care has transformed how we assess, deliver, and support our citizens in Lancashire with a significant focus on promoting and maintaining independence through creative support planning.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of a Countywide Short Term Support Service, working in partnership with Lancashire County Council and the NHS. We are a fluid and integrated resource that assists in relieving pressures within both ASC Acute Services in partnership with our health colleagues, Age UK, Housing colleagues, carers services and care providers. The operates over 7 days and the post holder will be required to wok 1 in 4 weekends, with enhanced rates of pay and time back for weekends worked, although this could change subject to business need.

Your role will include:

  • Manage a busy front-line service.

  • Respond to referrals urgent in nature and directing staffing resource.

  • Manage demand, manage risk and competing priorities.

  • Be able to challenge and negotiate.

  • Offer direct line management support to the senior social worker, social workers / SCSO's, including formal supervision, HR oversight, case work allocation.

  • Manage complaints.

  • Case work oversight, budget approvals/ oversight.

  • Contribute to the management of performance and data; the demands across the area- reporting to Area Manager

  • Lead the team Case Progression and Wellbeing Team Meeting

  • Be a supportive team member to wider Short Term Support Services management team.

  • Attend and contribute to the area meetings led by the County Operations Manager.

  • Liaise and work jointly with other colleagues, internal and external such as health and contribute to the Integration agenda.

  • Ensure a culture of promoting independence is embedded within the team.

  • Undertake all other relevant management tasks as directed

    Salary, Per annum £43,421- £48,474| Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Short Term Support Service Team Manager, You must be registered with Social Work England to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Work England. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non- social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.
