Full Job Description
You will work as part of the Low Carbon Economy Team with responsibility for delivering Countywide decarbonisation projects. You will assist in identifying and developing new opportunities for low carbon economic growth and partnerships and provide specialist technical expertise on decarbonisation and environmental sustainability, working closely with the BEEP, EV and Engagement teams to develop effective countywide projects contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2045., Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer. You will have experience of applying the principals of carbon reduction, climate change adaptation and sustainable development. You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of the policy and strategy environment for sustainability, carbon reduction and climate change adaptation.
