Norwich and Easton Campuses

Are you passionate about empowering students and supporting them to fulfil their potential? Do you already hold an IAG or Careers qualification or would you be interested in completing a fully funded Level 4 Careers and IAG qualification and/or progressing onto a Level 6 Careers Adviser qualification?

We are looking for someone to join our Advice and Guidance team for a maternity cover fixed term contract. We need someone who has the ability to inspire, excellent communication and presentation skills and a desire to help students realise their career potential. We can invest in your professional development which will be fully supported along the way.

The Adviser position would be working at both our bustling Ipswich Road campus in Norwich and our beautiful Easton College site on a weekly rota basis, both based in the Student Services departments.

Working with likeminded people, the role requires teamwork, flexibility and problem-solving skills to deal with the variety of enquiries we receive. General day to day duties would include providing advice and guidance to potential students through drop-in appointments, emails and telephone enquiries, live chat, school liaison activities and open days. Support for existing students will be in the form of drop-in appointments, presenting employability workshops and talks enabling students to succeed in the next stage of their development and supporting our Careers Advisers with any planned activities throughout the year. There is also involvement with the UCAS applications, assisting with personal statement writing, how to apply and making choices for next steps. The post will include some evening and weekend work throughout the year.

The ideal candidates will have experience of working in Advice and Guidance, have a background in education, an understanding of the local labour market and knowledge of the employability skills required for various roles and positions. However, we are open to applications from anyone with relevant transferable skills and are able to mentor new staff. The role is being offered as a full time, fixed term contract with excellent benefits.  If you would like to ask any questions about this post, please feel free to contact Alexandra Miller, IAG Team Leader.
