Full Job Description

We require, as soon as possible, a Cover Supervisor/s to be responsible for supervising a class of pupils in place of a teacher. The Cover person appointed will supervise work set by a qualified teacher when a member of staff is absent; you will not be expected to set and mark work for the classes covered.

To be successful, you will be well organised and confident in dealing with pupils in classroom situations. You will need to be able to follow the instructions left by the teacher and to deal with pupils' learning and behaviour at various levels.

Cover is allocated on a daily basis following the full school curriculum, and familiarity with subjects to GCSE level and working with pupils in the 11-16 age range would be an advantage. Candidates should be graduates (or equivalent) and have some ICT skills. There would also be a requirement to undertake duties before and after school.

Hours: 32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday), term time only + Inset days.

About Us

Kettlethorpe High School is a unique institution - and not just because we are a true comprehensive and the last non-academy school in Wakefield. It's due to the dynamism and passion of our pupils, who love to get involved in everything we do.

We are a large and popular maintained school in Wakefield, often oversubscribed and are currently planning for a larger cohort entry that will see new capital building work and a potential 11-16 roll of 1,800 pupils.

Closing date: Noon on Friday 27 September 2024.

The successful applicant will be required to provide criminal conviction information and complete a disclosure application form.
