    Highgate Wood School wishes to appoint a resourceful and flexible Cover Supervisor for an immediate start.

    The role will require excellent literacy and numeracy skills, the ability to communicate effectively and have very strong organisational skills with the ability to work flexibly.

    You will be part of a team responsible for supervising whole classes of students to cover short-term absences of teachers. This will involve facilitating students learning through supporting them with set activities (provided by teachers), responding to questions from students and adhering to the schools behaviour policies.

    Previous experience in a similar role or having classroom experience will be useful but not essential. The post holder will also require a good level of ICT competency and the ability to learn new skills where required.

    The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to form good working relationships with students, parents/carers and colleagues

  • Have good oral and written communication skills

  • Be able to adapt and be flexible in working practices and the ability to know when to use initiative

  • Have a high degree of professionalism in your approach to work and tasks set

  • Have an ability to be a good role model for students and colleagues

  • Have experience of working with/caring for children or adults who have barriers to learning and/or special educational needs

  • Have experience working as part of a team

    Support Staff Salary Scale 5 - Term Time - 36 hours a week


  • FTE £30,033-£31,440 -Actual pro rata £28,242 - £29,565.
