Full Job Description

+ Supervising and supporting students to complete work left in accordance with the school policy
+ Assisting in preparing the learning environment and the materials used therein
+ Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policy to ensure a constructive working environment
+ Responding to students about the work that has been set
+ Collecting any work completed after the lesson and returning it to an agreed person/place
+ Leaving the room in good order at the end of the lesson, Herne Bay High School is a large hugely successful Single Academy Trust that serves the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. We have a comprehensive intake and are significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and in June 2022 Ofsted rated the school good with an Outstanding 6th form provision. Whilst academic rigour and examination success is at the forefront of our development, we passionately believe that a broad, balanced approach to education is important and as such we place great emphasis on the Creative and Performing Arts, Technology, and Sport as a key part of a young person's early educational journey. Herne Bay High School is also a champion of collaborative practice, with current memberships to the East Kent Learning Alliance (EKLA), East Kent Schools Together Network (EKST), and the Coastal Alliance Co-Operative Trust (CACOT). We are seeking to appoint individuals for the role of Cover Supervisor who are enthusiastic, motivated and reliable, those who truly want to make a difference to our students lives whilst working alongside our dedicated team of Teaching and Support Staff., + Reliable, self-motivated and hard working
+ Responsible and have the ability to manage classroom behaviours effectively
+ Previous experience working with children
+ Flexible and organised
+ Have a passion for education and show a strong understanding of safeguarding
+ Confident in dealing with classroom management

This position is 35 hours per week, 8.00am - 3.30pm, term time plus 2 days. Salary will be within the HBHS Scheme Band 6 pro rata, with the actual salary being between £19,957 and £21,229 (dependent upon experience.
