Full Job Description

Access to an on-site HR Advisor, who is also a Mental Health First Aider; Fortnightly Supervision for Teachers; Membership of Benenden Health Care; Access to Support Line Counselling; Menopause Support; SLT open door approach; Team Teach Training; Full Time DSL.

Our highly-trained staff provide bespoke therapeutic interventions, such as Thrive or Trauma Informed Practice, to address social emotional development and enable pupils to manage their behaviour and regulate their emotions so that they can form meaningful relationships throughout their lives. We teach our students how to regulate using the Zones of Regulation. We use Restorative Approaches to build and maintain a sense of community and to provide our pupils with the ability and attitude to respect the viewpoints of others and, when necessary, take responsibility for resolving conflict and putting things right.
In our Ofsted inspection in March 2023, Elms School continues to be a Good school.

We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled TA or HLTA join our team and help provide cover across the school, in both the Primary and Secondary phase. Candidates will need to demonstrate a commitment to the school's vision. Candidates will need to be flexible and willing to respond to the changing needs of the school at short notice.
Knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment systems are desirable and experience of working with children or adults with challenging behaviours is essential. Candidates will need to understand the issues faced by pupils with SEN. Candidates will need to show initiative and be able deliver lessons at short notice. Candidates will need good IT skills and the ability to direct TAs within the class. we are looking for someone who is emotionally resilient with a good sense of humour and physically fit to undertake this role.
Knowledge of Restorative Approaches and Team Teach is desirable, although full training will be provided.
Candidates need to possess a minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
