  • Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
  • Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of a teacher
  • Ensure that students are engaged, motivated and on task
  • Manage any behaviour issues that may arise
  • Follow school policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress

    Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a desire to inspire young minds? Are you considering a career in teaching? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Graduate Cover Supervisor with the potential for future teacher training. This role offers hands-on classroom experience and a unique opportunity to explore the teaching profession in a supportive school environment. For the right candidate, there is a clear progression pathway to Initial Teacher Training (ITT) through Educate's own SCITT programme leading to QTS. We provide comprehensive training to help you develop classroom management skills, along with mentorship from experienced teaching professionals. This will prepare you for a potential career in teaching. You will have the chance to collaborate with staff, engage with students, and contribute to the overall school community. Managing student behaviour, keeping students on task, and ensuring a positive learning environment are all essential aspects of this role. We are looking for graduates from any subject discipline who are passionate about education and interested in gaining practical classroom experience. You should possess strong communication skills, confidence in managing groups of students, and a proactive, enthusiastic attitude. While prior experience in an educational setting is helpful, it is not essential. What matters most is your commitment to supporting students and a genuine interest in pursuing a teaching career.,
  • A degree or Level 3 qualification with solid standards of literacy and numeracy
  • Experience working or volunteering with children or young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage behaviour effectively
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Registrations required to be a Cover Supervisor:
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, but if you do not have one, you can apply for a new one through Educate.
