Cover Supervisor/ PPA Teacher

Location: East London

Salary: between £26,500 to £28,500 FTE (Term-time plus 10 days, salary will be pro rata)

Do you have experience of teaching? Are you an experienced teaching assistant aspiring to be a teacher? If so, we want to hear from you.

As a new all-through school, Goresbrook School is attempting to do the seemingly impossible; ensure all young people, regardless of background, have the real option to succeed at a top university. Goresbrook School is an exciting new school that opened in 2014. Tenacious in approach, our team are committed to transforming the lives of students and do so through unwavering belief, positivity, creativity, hard work and collaboration.

We are looking to recruit a committed cover supervisor/PPA teacher to join our growing team and teach a range of lessons across the school. You will be working alongside our current cover supervisors, and the primary teaching team, to provide high quality teaching to students in the absence of teachers. You will need to be pro-active, organised, enthusiastic and able to use your initiative. As part of a small and growing team, a willingness to be flexible and develop as a professional are essential attributes of the ideal candidate. This position is well suited to someone thinking about pursuing a career in teaching and who wishes to gain some further experience before doing so. As a United Learning school, candidates with suitable qualifications are able to apply for the United Teaching programme, a teaching training provider rated "outstanding" by Ofsted.

The vacancy represents an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that works within the nationally renowned United Learning Trust. We would welcome applications from candidates who are eager to play an important role in the future of our school.

What we offer as a school:

- Clear purpose. We are all here to make a real difference to students lives

- An environment in which student behaviour is exemplary

- Year groups of 60 students. We are a small school and pride ourselves on knowing our students

- Weekly in-school CPD

- Opportunities for promotion and development

- A supportive senior leadership team

- Fantastic children and dedicated, friendly staff

- A competitive salary

- Health cash plan

We currently have 440 students from nursery to year 6. Whether you are an outstanding experienced pastoral practitioner looking for a new challenge, or an experienced teaching assistant, you will play a key part in the school's development. You could play a part in leading and shaping the vision and future of our school for many years to come.

If you align with our vision, values, and are committed to ensuring that 'disadvantaged' does not dictate educational outcomes, then you will greatly enjoy working at Goresbrook.

About United Learning

United Learning is a large and growing group of schools which aims to provide a life changing education to children and young people across England. United Learning has schools throughout the country and a strategy of building tight geographical clusters of schools. Goresbrook School and Walthamstow Academy will form one of these clusters.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us to share knowledge and resources, simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a group we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay and benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in staff wellbeing. Our academies have eight INSET days per year (with three dedicated to planning). It's an ethos we call 'the best in everyone'
