Full Job Description

Come and use your specialist capabilities to support the force to investigate serious and organised crime!, Leicestershire Police are looking to recruit a Covert Authorities Officer to join the team within Crime Support, Covert Authorities Bureau (CAB). This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, working 37 hours per week plus on call duties as part of a rota maintaining 24/7 coverage, for which an allowance is payable., To act as an accredited Force SPoC (Single Point of Contact) for all investigations involving the lawful acquisition and disclosure of data obtained from the Communications Industry.
To provide training assistance, advice and expertise in all matters regarding; Investigatory Powers Act 2016, RIPA 2000 and Police Act 1997 promoting efficiency and good practice.
To co-ordinate and manage RIPA and IPA applications for covert investigations, (Including but not limited to; Directed Surveillance, Unregulated Surveillance, Property Interference, Targeted Equipment Interference, Intrusive Surveillance, Criminal Conduct Authorities, Prison surveillance), ensuring compliance with the appropriate legislation.
The must haves

Educated to `A' level standard or equivalent in a relevant subject (ie IT, mathematics, and sciences) or have equivalent experience in an environment working at this level.
To have the ability to achieve SPOC Accredited Officer status in relation to telecommunications and internet within 6 months of appointment and maintain that accreditation.
To be able to demonstrate experience in a role where you have been required to:-
Give specialist advice.
Compile complex information from a variety of sources and present that information in an appropriate, usable and easily understandable format.
Interpret policy, regulations or legislation.

Salary: £34,329-£38,754 SCP 24-28 plus on call rota allowance

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
